Did you know that breast cancer is one of the most common types of cancers diagnosed in US women? I'm sure that you know someone who has been affected by breast cancer at some point in your life. I personally have two amazing women in my family who have been affected by breast cancer. They have both been fortunate to catch it early and fight it for quite some time. One decided to get a mastectomy with no reconstruction and the other had reconstructive surgery afterwards. Guess what, both decisions were THEIR decisions to make an nobody else's. Both decisions were acceptable and shouldn't get flack from anyone.
Society has taught us that it's normal to be judgmental and we somehow have the right to decide if it's acceptable or not if a women has a cosmetic surgery for whatever her reasoning may be. This is NOT okay. Everyone has a fight they're fighting. This may be a fight internally, this maybe one externally. But regardless of that struggle it's personal. It's private. It's nobody else's business! Don't let anyone tell you what you should or shouldn't do with your body. It's your decision. So, regardless of your reasoning, if you undergo breast surgery, good for you for making that decision for yourself and not letting anyone else tell you otherwise.
The Chrysalis Method recognizes that women have all sorts of reasons behind their decision to have breast surgery. No matter what the reason, Chrysalis is there for support. The community is not like any other community. Only women in our community are able to discuss their fears, concerns, highs and lows of their recovery process within this private group. Women build each other up and don't knock each other down. This is a safe place for positive reinforcement and a place where you can be vulnerable without being judged.
It's because of the loved ones who we all know that Chrysalis will make a donation towards breast cancer awareness annually from it's donations. We are a free program and based on donations only. A portion of our donations received will be used to keep the website and blog going while the others will be contributed towards breast cancer awareness. We are excited to be able to offer this as part of our program benefits and need your help to help more women. As always thanks for your support!
You are beautiful.
